Happy Hump Day All!

I hope that everyone is having a good November? I really can’t believe that there are only 4 weeks to Christmas come Monday! How on earth did that happen?! I am not doing too badly, I have started my present shopping, although so far most of the things I have bought are for my little boy, so I need to work on getting things for everyone else….

I have been beavering away over at Mama & Fred this month. I have had a little hiatus in November, my Etsy shop has been shut to allow me to catch up on all of my lovely orders. I have also been trying out a few new items that I will be adding to the shop bit by bit and I have been working on updating some of my Etsy and Websites appearance.

I asked my Instagram followers for their feedback on my product photos and they told me that my work looked nicer on my wooden photoboard backgrounds rather than on the white backgrounds (which do end up looking quite different colours depending on the lighting) so I have been retaking photos of all my spare stock and I think they are looking pretty nice now! I still have a few items left to do, but these will have to be an ongoing job in between other orders!

I have also excitingly now updated my colour options to add in even more fab colours. New colours include Rose Pink, Navy Blue and Olive Green in the Cashmerino yarn used for my bonnets and pixie hats, and Denim blue, Copper and Charcoal in the DK used for my Hats, Decorations and Bloomers. Which are your favourites?!

Hi guys!

Hope that you are all well! I can’t believe that it is nearly the end of June! Where are the days going?! We are like, half way to Christmas now! Eek!

I am going to start off with an apology, this was meant to be a heads up that there was a new product coming, however, I ran out of time so it is now a little hello to let you know that the new products are here! But don’t worry, you are still getting a special offer coming your way…..

Mama & Fred is doing really well on Etsy and the website is almost fully back up and running, so there are lots of fun things happening and I am constantly kept busy, hence the slightly behind post for you lovely people! Hopefully by the time I come to write to you next month I will have caught up with myself, well, it has to happen at some point right?!

So anyway, today I wanted to share with you the TWO newest additions to the Mama & Fred clothing line which are this adorable Romper and gorgeous little headband!

The inspiration for this the romper was my newest nephew, Sergio. He is the latest addition to the Waller family and is a super cutie! I wanted to make him something that I hadn’t made for anyone else before, and his mum loves a bit of monochrome, so I made this Romper in a lovely smokey dark grey with a matching bonnet. I think it would also look fantastic in plum or a buttery yellow too.

My second new item is this baby headband in the style of a bow. I am currently changing up my product line a little bit and I am planning on having a range of accessories, this is the first of them so I hope you like it!

Both will make super cute gifts for a new baby, and would go really well with a pair of matching booties like these, or with one of my teethers!

These are both live now and can be purchased through my website: Mamaandfred.com.

And because you are all so special to me, if you use code Romper20 at checkout you will get 20% off Rompers and headbands!

I hope you like my new items, do let me know what you think

New Product Announcement – The Nautical Tank Top!

Happy February everyone! I did intend to get this post out in January but time as always has gotten away from me! But it is only just February, so it almost doesn’t count! I shall try and be a little more prompt this month, but we will just have to see what life has in store!

This is my newest type of Blog post which I hope you will like, where every month or so I shall introduce you to a new product I have created and will be offering you a discount on that item.

This month it is the Nautical Tank Top which I am totally in love with. My inspiration for this item was my little boy Freddie. I wanted to make him something for his Birthday in December and I saw something similar to this top on Pinterest and couldn’t resist! The top is lovely and warm, and has a great fit, room to move but fitting snuggly with the bottom ribbing. It has buttons on the shoulder to make life a bit easier – there is nothing more tiring than trying to wrestle a toddler into a top!! For the one I made Freddie I went with a nautical theme – navy and white strips and gold anchor buttons, but it can be made in whatever colours you like – from bumblebee stripes to a block of princess pink!

This month has been manic, I have had so many new product ideas buzzing about in my head and there are so many things I want to make, but I just don’t have enough hours in the day to do everything!

Time seems to be very short at the moment. I have returned to my day job three days a week and the other 2 days I spend looking after Freddie who is now an energetic 14 month old. He is teething at the moment so no-one is really sleeping! I end up working on My Little Yarn Baby in the evenings after work and am splitting my time between making things and sorting out my website and promoting items on social media (anyone else who does this knows how quickly time disappears when you are Tweeting!!). Throw into that mix our house sale falling through and having to put it back on the market and having to sort things out relating to that again and I end up with some very late nights and bleary eyes! It’s worth it though when I look at what I have achieved.

Anyway, I hope you like the Nautical Tank Top, If you love it as much as I do, then hop over to my shop and you can have 20% off the list price – just use the code TANKTOP20. This discount only applies to this item as it is new, but if it is not to your taste then there will be other new product offers (and other promotions) coming later this year – subscribe to my emails and you won’t miss any of them!

Hello and welcome to the new and improved Mama & Fred website!

So it has been a busy few months to say the least! My little shop has had a rebrand as you may have noticed. My little yarn baby is no more, which is a little sad, but hopefully you will all like the new Mama & Fred logo and branding.

My products are still just as lovely as before (although hopefully always improving!) but now they are now marketed and packaged a little differently. I made the decision to make the change as I felt I had outgrown the My Little Yarn Baby name, Mama & Fred feels a bit more me and more in the direction I want to go, more as a real business and not just a hobby that I am tinkering with. I also wanted to start selling on Etsy again, and there was a lady previously who wasn’t very happy with me using my name on there as she felt it was too similar to hers (it wasn’t and we didn’t sell anything remotely similar, but I’m putting that behind me and moving on!!)

So, I have a nice shiny new Etsy store which is filling up nicely – do take a peek! Mamaandfred.etsy.com The most popular items at the moment are my range of spring bonnets – which are now available in cotton for the warmer summer months…. If it ever stops raining!

I have also got my new website set up (as I needed a new domain name after my name change). This is filling up a little more slowly as I am not the most techy person and things take a bit longer for me to sort out on it than they do in Etsy! I think it’s looking pretty nice now though, and I am adding in my products a little bit every day. I plan to run more promotions and deals through my website than Etsy, so please do sign up to my mailing list, this will keep you up to date with all my latest product releases and upcoming promotions. You also get 20% off your first order just for signing up! Win win!

I have lots and lots of plans going forward for the rest of 2017. I have a few more new lines that I want to introduce for summer (think baby rompers and more headwear) and then for Autumn Winter (new exciting baby booties) and even as far out as Spring 2018…… but I will be keeping those a secret for now.

I am incredibly excited about them all though, and only wish I had more hours in the day for creating my tiny garments!

collared knitted booties, handmade baby shoes, baby shower gift, newborn christening present, spring booties, infant shoes, baby girl, baby boy, mamaandfred, new mum, christening present, handmade baby shoes, knitted bootees

So I shall be posting and keeping in touch with you all. I am hoping to restart my makers showcase posts soon and eventually my how to craft posts. However, we are (finally) very close to moving house so those may stay on the back burner until that is all sorted! As I said, it has all been very busy lately!!

Anyway, take care, don’t forget to subscribe to my mailing list and let me know if you have any feedback regarding my etsy store, the website or anything else you have an opinion on! I am always grateful for a bit of help!
